Assessment methodology

Assessment Methodology

CareerWiz assessments are designed to support reflection and planning. They should separate dimensions clearly and avoid presenting any one score as destiny.

Assessment dimensions

  • Interests and subject preferences.
  • Aptitude and reasoning indicators.
  • Personality tendencies relevant to work and learning style.
  • Work values, motivators and preferred environment.
  • Academic strengths, skills, self-efficacy, constraints and aspirations.

How results should be interpreted

  • A match indicates alignment signals, not certainty.
  • Recommendations should explain why a career, stream or path appears relevant.
  • Low fit does not mean a user cannot succeed; it highlights gaps or weaker evidence.
  • Students should repeat analysis after meaningful profile updates or new assessment attempts.

Question and scoring governance

  • Question type, dimension and internal tags are hidden during testing to avoid biasing responses.
  • Question banks should be reviewed for neutral wording, age appropriateness and cultural fairness.
  • Scoring logic should be versioned when materially changed.
  • Human review is advisable when results conflict with user goals, academic evidence or wellbeing concerns.

Limitations

The assessment is not a medical, psychological or learning diagnosis. It does not measure intelligence or guarantee performance. It supports structured guidance conversations and personalised planning.
