AI transparency

AI Transparency Statement

AI may assist with summarisation, matching, scoring explanations, refresh workflows and guidance drafting. The target principle is simple: AI supports informed decision-making; it does not decide a student’s future.

Inputs used for recommendations

  • Profile fields supplied by the user.
  • Assessment responses and completion status.
  • Education level, subjects, marks, interests, skills and domicile/location where relevant.
  • College, course, scholarship, career and opportunity datasets available in the app.
  • Admin-approved visibility rules, plan entitlements and source labels.

Where AI may be used

  • Generating explainable guidance summaries.
  • Refreshing or classifying datasets for admin review.
  • Scoring essays, activities or admissions readiness with rubric-style feedback.
  • Matching careers, courses, institutes, scholarships or opportunities to profile evidence.

Controls and limitations

  • AI outputs can be incomplete, outdated or overconfident and should be checked against source evidence.
  • The app should not fabricate exact salaries, deadlines, rankings or admission outcomes.
  • Sensitive conclusions, diagnoses or unsupported deterministic claims are prohibited.
  • Admin review queues and user correction routes exist to improve questionable records.

Bias and commercial safeguards

CareerWiz designs recommendation logic so users are not penalised because of language, income, location or background. Sponsored or commercially influenced visibility is labelled where applicable and does not override user safety or relevance.

Challenge a recommendation

If a recommendation appears inaccurate, biased or outdated, send it for support review.
